I went to see AizenKobo in November 2014 and like you was delighted by their craft and excellence. I bought a ramie indigo men's kimono jacket - it was very pricey.( I am a woman.) I wore it today - I live in London. As we parked near Burlington Arcade, a young man looked up seeing me put on my jacket as I got out of the car. Her called his colleague and they both came out of their studio asking about my beautiful kimono jacket. Late someone else who understands about fabrics etc wanted to touch the fabric. I just love the Kimono jacket.

Oh man!! Can anyone's please tell me the difference between a hydro and thiox vat? I'm currently working with thiox, soda ash indigo ratio and regularaly run into issues no matter how hard I've tried to make friends and 'get to know the indigo'. I have had a few successful sessions in the past.
I need to be dyeing pretty regularly but my vat never wants to keep its flower for more than a day or two and after the first few sessions appears to imbalance pretty quickly.
My raw silk yarn didn't appear to fully take the dye as it appears more like washed denim.
Would love some helpful tips!

Thanks from NZ

Hi Sandra,

I don't hold a waiting list per se, but I do have a mailing list you are free to sign up too. Workshops wont be happening until at least Sept 2017.

Cheers,

Victoria

I just finished a long wall hanging in the style of boro. I am an artist 82 years old and have tried and shown many mediums. These hangings or clothes that I will make were from thrift stores and family and friends. Some things I do wonder who wore a particular piece and maybe a hundred years from now these pieces wil have holes and be like the boro..I feel some sort of attraction to these fabrics but have done collage and painted in that style. Thank you for sharing your experience, it gave me another layer on my work
