Fustic and Indigo green is The Best. This shade of green makes me slap my face a la Macaulay Caulkin and rather than scream, I kind of just go “eughaaargh” and make other nonsense noises because words just cannot explain how good it is.
I have always found the colour red to be immensely appealing. It’s bright, yet dark, it glows, but can be sombre. It’s the colour of love, blood, danger, the desert and fire engines. It means different things and triggers different emotional responses depending on the context in which it is used.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the time it takes for a product to be created from its raw state, whatever that may be.
poor neglected blog! I’m sorry, I’ll try to do better next year. I’ve worked on some new stuff recently which I haven’t shown off yet blog wise! I’ve done a short run of Linen cushion covers which you can grab in the shop, and I also made some one of a kind patchwork scarves using […]

Ok I admit it. I have a bit of a thing for hand dyed yarn. It’s a hobby I picked up about a year ago and have explored quite extensively with acid dyes. I started dyeing yarn because I wanted great coloured yarn for all the knits I make for my son. He wears a […]
I am going to be setting up shop this weekend at the brand spanking new Northern Regards Artisan Market which is going to be super cool. The concept behind the market is sustainability which is something I think about a lot as a dye artist, and also just generally as a person. It is pretty important to […]
I got off to a slow start with eco printing. I’ve had all these amazing visions of spectacular eco prints, and to begin with it was a BIG FLOP. Well not a flop, but I didn’t get the results I expected. Which supposedly is one of the “joys” of eco printing. I’m more inclined to […]
I’ve been meaning to post for the past 2 weeks, but I’ve been so busy dyeing and sewing that I just never managed a few minutes to gather my thoughts and blog about my activities. This past weekend I had a stall at Craft Hatch, which was pretty amazing, I met some wonderful designers as […]
